Elijah's Project Update

This is an update from Wendy on Elijah's project. Thank you to everyone who donated money, gifts and prayer in honor of Madelyn Hope Henry. I pray this blesses you today!

Elijah's Birthday Project
Wendy Warren
Well I was wanting to wait until we had some pictures of the room all decorated to send out some thank you letters to those who made Elijah's Birthday Project a great success but I am not sure when we will get those pictures. I wanted to go ahead and update everyone and let them know what we were able to do. We collected so many items! Every category of items we thought they would be able to use in this room...we got! We were even able to make a monetary donation to the hospital of $1,641. The staff was overwhelmed with all of the items we brought. Some couldn't find the words to say, some had tears, and others ran to get more people to show them all the donations. I wish that these were not needed but in reality there will be other families coming through there spending those special final moments with their child. We hope that these items will bring comfort to the parents and siblings of those precious babies. Thank you all for your contributes they made a difference. As one of the nurses at St. Johns said when we brought the items up there "The love for Elijah is felt and he has a great First Birthday". This picture does not do it justice especially since a lot of the items are buried under other items but here is a picture of items we brought to the hospital. Thank you all again for making Elijah's first birthday special and helping others in his honor.

It's been a long time!

It has been over a year since I posted on my blog. This past year has been one of the hardest of our lives but it has also had many blessings. We lost our precious baby Madelyn Hope Henry on May 4, 2010. It was both the worst and best day of our lives. The thought of not ever getting to see her look at us, smile, crawl, walk, talk to us, hold our hand, give us kisses is almost unbearable but the best part is that someday we will get to see her again. We are so thankful that we had time to hold her, kiss her and tell her we love her as she came into this world. Our time with her was precious and we are so thankful everyday that we had that blessing. We have spent many days crying and many days laughing this past year. She is now 8 months old in heaven and we miss her everyday. We are blessed with four other beautiful, healthy children and we are so thankful for them. They provide us with so much laughter and love and it has made this process more bearable. We want to give our God all the praise and glory for getting us through these last 8 months for without Jesus we would have no hope but with him we have hope in his name. Our friends and family have been a rich blessing to us through these months also. I have received so much encouragement through words, letters, cards and prayers during this time of grieving and it has been so helpful to us. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in the last 8 months and continue to lift us up as we work through our grief as a family. We love you all!

10 years...Where did the time go?

Yesterday Andy and I celebrated our 10th anniversary! I can't explain how nice it was to spend time with my husband alone. We had a great time enjoying dinner at The Melting Pot, watching a movie together and spending some much needed time alone at the InterContinental Hotel at Country Club Plaza in KC. We slept in until 10a.m this morning(I can't tell you how many years it has been since I was able to do that) and enjoyed lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. I am so thankful for a husband that takes the time to make me feel special. It is crazy to think we have been married 10 years, it seems like just yesterday I was putting on my wedding dress, crying as Andy sang to me, and thinking it can't get any better than this, but it did. We have four little blessings, have stuck with each other through good and bad times and I love Andy today more than I could have ever imagined. I can't imagine my life without him and I am so thankful for the Lord bringing us together. Marriage isn't always easy but the tough times bring us closer to each other and our Savior. The past 10 years have been the best of my life and I know the next 10 will be even better with Andy by my side. I love you Andy!

My Growing Little Boy

I can't believe how fast my first born is growing up. It seems like just yesterday Brett was starting his first day of preschool at 3 yrs. old and now he is almost 6 and just finished his last year of preschool. He will miss Miss Laurie so much, she has been an excellent teacher and I am so glad he started his schooling with a Godly lady like her. He is excited at the thought of starting Kindergarten but for me it is bittersweet. I love watching him grow and turn in to the Godly young boy he is but I am not ready for him to start the elementary school years. I will cherish this summer and the time I have to enjoy his company. Cherish your little ones, they grow too quickly.

2 Birthday Girls

This past week Hailey and Ava had their birthdays. For those of you who don't know our girls share the same birthday January 22nd. What makes this so unique is not only do they share the same birthday but they were both early babies due in February. They are both such a blessing to us. We are thankful everyday for them and birthdays help us remember that special day when they were born. It is hard to believe that my girls are 4 and 2 now. As many of you know Hailey is all about the color pink and just loves anything to do with princesses so when she requested a castle cake and a princess party I wasn't surprised at all. Ava also likes to dress up and act like a princess(imagine that). All I want to know is how I got two girly girls that want to wear dresses all the time when my favorite attire is a T-shirt and jeans? Here are some photos of their special day.

Merry Christmas

Our family would like to wish everyone a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year. I am a slacker this year and didn't get Christmas cards out. I have been a little busy and decided not to stress my self out when Christmas is about the birth of our Savior. So when you don't receive a Christmas card from the Henry's don't think we forgot you. We love you all and hope you have a great time celebrating Christmas with your family and friends.

Love,
The Henry's

Introducing Brayden Graham Henry

We are blessed to announce the birth of our 4th child Brayden Graham Henry. He was born on November 3, 2008. Brayden weighed in at 6lbs. 4oz. and was 19 inches long. He came four weeks early (We think he was competing with his sisters who were 4 and 5 weeks early). He is doing great! His brothers and sisters love him so much! Brett reminds me daily how cute he is and how much he loves him. Hailey loves him too but is more interested in playing princess and dancing. Ava is constantly giving him kisses and trying to hold him. We are so thankful for our 4 children that the Lord blessed us with. I am constantly amazed by them. Brayden has been a blessing to us and I can't believe he is already 2 weeks old. Enjoy the pictures!

A Week Of Firsts

On Tuesday H started her first day of school. She was so excited to go to school like her big brother and meet new friends. B had a hard time 2 years ago when he started school but not H. She didn't even say goodbye until I asked her to, she was too busy playing with the toys and showing her teacher how she could twirl in her dress. I can't believe my little girl is in preschool. Here are some pictures of her 1st day.
I'm a big girl now!

On Wednesday B and H started Awana. This year they are both in Cubbies. This is H's first year and B's second. They were really excited that they would be together for a year. We practiced verses all week and they couldn't wait to wear their vests. We played, laughed, sang, ate and most importantly learned God's word. It was great to see them enjoying themselves so much. They have the best teacher ever! We love you Ms. C. Here are some pics of their first night.

Getting ready for story time

We love song time Ms. G

On Thursday night H started her first day of dance class this week. She was smiling from ear to ear when we got her leotard/tights on, hair in a bun and dance bag ready. She showed me some of her ballerina moves before we left home. We were allowed to come watch her on the first night and it was so much fun. She kept looking back at me and smiling every time she would learn something new. I sure was a proud mommy! Here are some pictures and video of her first night.

B also had his first day of school this week and he started like a pro. He was very excited to see his friends from last year and to meet some new ones also. It was a great day for him and a hard one for me realizing next year he would be in kindergarten. He will have another first next week when he starts gymnastics. He is sooooo excited! Here are some pictures from the first day of school.
